Generally the hardware is identical to a traditional plotter except that the ink pen is replaced by a blade that is used to cut out each shape. All Mimaki Cutters have pressure controls that allow for adjustment of how hard the blade presses down into the vinyl film, allowing for designs to be fully or partly cut out.

Mimaki Cutters are available in three formats - Desktop, Roll Feed and Flatbed. Each type has various strengths for different aspects of the market, depending on what you require your cutter to do.
