Mimaki UV Flatbed Printers

Flatbed inkjet printers using UV-Curable inks expand their role beyond flexible substrates & the markets they can service.

Digital Inkjet Printers using UV Curing Inks take advantage of traditional inkjet printing benefits & go one step further. It makes them applicable to rigid materials of various thicknesses and types. But, the ability to handle materials of various sizes & substrates is useless if the ink does not adhere to them. This is where UV technology comes in.

The setting & adhesion of UV-Curable inks is achieved when they are exposed to ultraviolet lights during the printing process.

One of the most significant advantages of a UV curing flatbed printer is the instant ink drying, which means the printed product can be handled immediately - either for distribution or for cutting on a plotter. This yields faster job turnaround allowing for increased production & hence profitability. They do not suffer from the troublesome issues associated with cleaning & purging the head to removed insoluable material that is associated with solvent inks.

Another factor to consider is that UV Curable inks have evolved to allow for further ink flexibility which now allows them roll to roll capability, opening up the fleet graphics market.

The ability to print on non-standard substrates such as metal, wood & glassw coupled with the unique properties of UV-Curable inks is a combination that is a viable alternative to more costly methods. They offer a tremendous opportunity for expanded markets.
