Description
Features:
- A tough, durable oil based paint for blackboards
- Dries to a slightly abrasive flat black finish
- Ideal for blackboards, chalkboards and table tennis tables
- 1L tin of blackboard paint
Application:
- Thoroughly stir and apply with a brush, roller or spray
- For best results apply two coats
Surface Preparation:
- Ensure the surface is dry and clean of dirt, grease and dust
Unprimed timber, particle board and MDF - Apply Viponds Easy Sand Undercoat or Acrylic sealer undercoat to prepare the surface
Previously Painted Surfaces - Wash the surface so it’s free of chalk dust, dirt and grease
- Sand down glossy surfaces
- No undercoat is required
Drying:
- Under normal drying conditions (low humidity and temperature between 16ºC and 25ºC) it will be surface dry within 2 hours
- Recoat after 16 hours
- Allow 24 hours to thoroughly dry before using
Clean Up and Thinning:
- Thin and clean with mineral turpentine
Coverage
- Approximately 16 square metres per litre per coat
- Two coats are recommended
Care of the Blackboard
- The blackboard surface should be wiped over with a damp cloth occasionally to remove all traces of chalk
- When the surface becomes smooth and the chalk does not write properly apply another coat of blackboard paint
